Puppy Basics is open to all puppies from 2-11 months of age regardless of size.  It is designed to train foundation skills.  The goal of the class is to ensure that your puppy is working toward learning good manners for the home and community.  This includes learning to sit, down, come when called, walk nicely on a leash, have proper door behavior, stay in place, and to refrain from jumping on others.  All interested family members are welcome to attend and participate in the training.

AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy (Puppy Obedience) is designed for puppies that have completed Puppy Basics at our training center or a class that is equivalent at another facility.  Puppies must be under 1 year of age when the first class begins and should strive to attend all 6 weeks to obtain the AKC S.T.A.R. puppy designation.  S.T.A.R. stands for Socialization, Training, Activity, and Responsibility.  This class works on becoming a good canine family member and citizen by learning to exercise self-control, and some basic obedience. During the course of this class, you and your puppy will take the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy tests. Puppies who pass the tests are eligible to receive an award certificate as well as a S.T.A.R. Puppy medal from the American Kennel Club.  Puppies do not have to be purebred or AKC registered to earn the S.T.A.R. recognition.

Taste of K9 Sports / Sport Puppy is a great class for puppies and dogs to dabble in some of the dog sports that are available.  This gives you and your dog a chance to sample different activities to see what truly interests your dog.  Possible sports may include Agility, Nosework, Treibball, Tricks, Scent Hurdle Racing, and Rally.  There is no prerequisite for this class.

Introduction to Agility / Puppy Agility is designed to lay the groundwork for correctly and safely performing agility obstacles.  Safety on the equipment is emphasized.  Your dog will need to be on a buckle collar and 6-foot leash during this class.  Dogs will learn to perform obstacles such as the A-Frame, Dog Walk, Pause Table, Teeter Totter, Open Tunnel, Tire Jump, Weave Poles, and Jumps.  All jumps will be kept at a very low height for the safety of puppies and beginner dogs.  This class is great for building confidence in dogs, as well as creating a stronger bond between owners and dogs.  There is no age restriction for this class.  It is for dogs who have never been in an agility class before, but HAVE taken a puppy or obedience class at our training center or the equivalent at another facility.
